Unlock your child's imagination and creativity with the Birmingham Botanical Gardens Junior afternoon Spark Young Writers group. Designed specifically for young writers in school years 4 to 7, this creative writing program invites young minds to explore storytelling, poetry, and all manner of writing genres in a fun and supportive environment. 

Held on one Saturday a month from 1:45pm - 3:45pm, the group is led by a local professional writer with an assistant, and will run from September 2026 to June 2027. 

Expect exciting writing exercises, fun discussions, and collaborative projects, all aimed at fostering a love for writing and enhancing young writers' literacy skills.
